Ukraine has called an emergency OSCE meeting over the crisis situation in temporarily occupied Oleshky. The issue will be considered on 1 October.
Foreign Minister of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha reported this.
The Ukrainian delegation will brief OSCE participating States on the situation in the city and the actions of the Russian occupation authorities.
According to Sybiha, the Russian occupation authorities are effectively holding civilians, including children, hostage.
"This is nothing other than a man-made humanitarian catastrophe", the foreign minister said.
He stressed that the situation in Oleshky is critical and requires urgent action by the international community.
Sybiha urged Switzerland, which holds the OSCE chairmanship, and other participating States to condemn Russia’s actions and apply "maximum pressure" on it.
"Oleshky urgently needs humanitarian assistance. Russia must be forced to allow it to be delivered immediately", the minister said.
- Earlier, Andrii Sybiha said that Russia is preparing to film dozens of staged videos featuring residents of occupied Oleshky in Kherson region. On camera, people will be forced to say that they are supposedly satisfied with the situation, have enough food and are grateful to the Russian occupiers.
