Countries that have existing agreements with Ukraine on co-operation in the drone sector may gain access to the latest Ukrainian technologies to counter Russian jet-powered drones.
Kyrylo Budanov, head of the President’s Office, said this in an interview with Euronews.
According to Budanov, Ukraine is already using a new technology to intercept Russian jet-powered drones in combat conditions. The main task now is to scale up its production before the most difficult part of winter arrives.
He noted that, in most cases, the technology makes it possible to intercept Russian jet-powered UAVs. At the same time, the main challenge remains producing interceptors in sufficient quantities.
“This is not about any specific product. It is about the principle of co-operation between countries on similar products,” Budanov said.
Asked whether the latest Ukrainian technologies, including interceptors for jet-powered drones, could become part of agreements with European countries, the head of the President’s Office replied: “Anyone who has concluded such agreements with us has the right, so to speak, to continue negotiations on specific products.”
Budanov also expressed confidence that Ukraine would be able to reach the required level of interceptor production before the harshest part of the coming winter.
