Kyiv and the EBRD have signed a loan agreement providing for an increase in the bank’s loan to €150m and the provision of a €5m grant.
This was reported by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
He said the funds under the “RLF — Kyiv Metro” project will be directed towards renewing the metro’s rolling stock.
“Previously, €50m was planned for this sub-project (as part of the ‘Modernisation of Kyiv’s Urban Transport II’ programme). But later the financing was restructured and significantly increased,” Klitschko added.
At present, together with the EBRD, Kyiv is implementing four projects with a total value of €290m. These include projects to modernise urban transport and to upgrade Kyiv’s centralised district heating system.
