In some areas of Donetsk region, the ratio of Russian to Ukrainian forces is 6:1.
This was reported by National Guard Commander Oleksandr Pivnenko.
According to him, the situation in Kharkiv and Donetsk regions has remained fluid this week.
“Over the course of the week alone, our units in their areas of responsibility repelled more than 170 enemy attacks. The largest number of assaults was in Donetsk region, where in certain sectors the ratio of the enemy’s attacking forces to ours is 6 to 1,” Pivnenko said.
He added that Russian forces continue to make active use of infantry, drones and aircraft. Despite this, the Defence Forces are holding their positions, disrupting enemy assaults and inflicting losses in manpower and equipment.
Pivnenko also said that Ukrainian units are capable of striking targets 70–100 kilometres behind Russian lines.
“This makes it possible to systematically destroy its military facilities and logistics even before they directly affect the situation on the front line. The enemy’s lack of significant successes and breakthroughs over the summer is the result of the daily work of our mid-range strike capabilities, the precise and coordinated work of UAV operators, artillerymen, reconnaissance troops, infantry and everyone who ensures the resilience of the defence,” the National Guard commander concluded.
