German defence company ARX Robotics and Ukraine’s Roboneers have signed a strategic co-operation agreement in the field of unmanned ground systems. This was reported by ARX Robotics’ press office.

The agreement was concluded in Kyiv in the presence of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a visit by a German delegation to Ukraine.

The partnership provides for deeper technical integration of both manufacturers’ systems and joint development of technologies for unmanned ground robotic complexes. ARX Robotics and Roboneers are already working together and supplying such systems to Ukraine’s Defence Forces.

In particular, in June 2026 Roboneers and ARX Robotics announced that they were setting up a joint venture, ARX Industries, which will produce the “Lynx Pro” systems at production sites in Germany and Ukraine. In its first year of operation, the company plans to manufacture thousands of unmanned ground systems, and in subsequent years to gradually increase output to tens of thousands per year.

“Software-defined unmanned defence solutions are key for land forces on the modern battlefield, where the enemy can see every action. Together with Roboneers, we are providing Ukrainian forces with a reliable yet intelligent fleet of unmanned ground systems at scale, while also ensuring that lessons learned on the battlefield are taken into account when developing ground systems for other Western armies,” said ARX Robotics CEO Marc Wietfeld.

ARX Robotics added that Ukraine currently operates the largest fleet of Western-made unmanned ground systems developed by the company — the Gereon systems.

As a reminder, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz arrived in Kyiv by train on Sunday, 4 October. He said the main purpose of his visit was to demonstrate Germany’s continued support for Ukraine.

During the visit to Kyiv by the German delegation led by Friedrich Merz, 15 documents were signed and agreements were reached worth €8.5 billion.

What is known about Roboneers

Roboneers manufactures unmanned ground robotic complexes that can follow designated units on the battlefield and carry not only specially equipped gear but also an individual soldier. Among its developments is the “Sabre” combat module, which enhances a side’s defensive and combat capabilities regardless of the weather.

Roboneers presented its “Lynx+” unmanned ground robotic complex in April 2026. The platform is suitable for logistics and evacuation. According to the manufacturer, the system has a range of up to 80 km and can carry out missions up to 40 km one way without intermediate recharging. Payload capacity is 350 kg. It has automatic cargo release and can evacuate two people at the same time. Maximum speed is 14 km/h. At the military’s request, remote headlight control was added, and payload capacity and the cargo-bed area were increased.

Roboneers’ unmanned ground systems line also includes the “Lynx” (the smallest in size, range and payload, suitable for rapid delivery), “Lynx Pro” (higher payload, speed and range), “Lynx Max”, “Lynx+”, and the “ShaLynx” combat platform with various types of weaponry.

Germany’s ARX Robotics, founded in 2022, specialises in developing technologies for unmanned ground robotic systems. The company builds unmanned ground systems for military use and also upgrades existing systems using the Mithra OS operating system with artificial intelligence-based functions. In February 2025, ARX Robotics became a resident of Diia.City and opened an office in Ukraine.
