Emergency power cuts were introduced in Kyiv on the morning of 8 October. Scheduled outage timetables will not apply during this period.
DTEK published the relevant notice at around 9:30. Energy workers will provide updates if anything changes.
“Kyiv: emergency outages have been introduced on Ukrenergo’s instruction,” the statement said.
Update. DTEK later reported that emergency outages are also in effect in a number of districts in Kyiv Region: Bucha, Brovary, Vyshhorod and Boryspil.
Emergency power outages began in the capital and other regions after Russia launched a large-scale attack on the energy sector on the night of 30 September. After that, there were mostly no restrictions until 6 October.
On 7 October, the Russians struck again on a large scale, including against energy infrastructure.
