In Pryluky, the search-and-rescue operation has been completed after a Russian missile strike hit a five-storey building. The death toll has risen to 22, including five children. Another 54 people were injured, including seven children.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported this on social media.
More than 500 emergency service specialists worked at the scene of the attack. Since yesterday, 15 people have been rescued, including a five-year-old child.
"And after such a brutal bombardment, the Russians continued to strike our regions. In the morning, Russia hit an ordinary public transport stop in Kramatorsk with an aerial bomb. As of now, 12 deaths have been confirmed," the head of state said.
In the evening, a Russian strike on a residential building in Kyiv claimed the lives of two people. Another four people were injured, including two children.
In Odesa Region, a drone attack damaged an animal shelter. Energy facilities once again came under fire as well. Overall, damage from Russian attacks has been recorded in 10 regions of Ukraine.
Zelenskyy thanked international partners for their response to Russia’s strikes and stressed that support must be translated into concrete decisions. This includes, in particular, the supply of missile defence systems, ammunition for Ukraine’s combat aviation, and investment in the production of interceptors.
