During September 2026, the Defence Forces destroyed more than 4,700 aerial targets and also neutralised more than 48,000 tactical-level drones.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force.
In particular, over the month Ukrainian troops destroyed:
- 24 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
- 8 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles;
- 12 Kalibr cruise missiles;
- 6 Kh-59/69 guided air-to-surface missiles;
- 6 Iskander-K cruise missiles;
- 8 Zircon anti-ship missiles;
- 86 S8000 Banderol missiles;
- 2,722 Shahed-131/136 attack UAVs;
- 1,935 Shahed-238 attack UAVs;
- 1,009 reconnaissance drones;
- 719 Lancet UAVs.
The statement also notes that during August, Air Force aviation carried out more than 1,600 sorties. Of these, around 1,300 were for fighter cover, with a further 250-plus for fire strikes and air support for troops.
- On the night of 10 October Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 160 attack drones of various types. Of these, 110 were jet-powered.
