Russia continues to reject ceasefire proposals while claiming it wants long-term peace.
This is reported by the Centre for Countering Disinformation.
In particular, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow is seeking “not a temporary truce, but long-term peace”.
At the same time, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov rejected initiatives for an energy truce. He said Russia “will not give Ukraine a breather” and will continue to pursue its goals in the war.
The Centre for Countering Disinformation believes the Kremlin’s statements about seeking “a stable and lasting peace” do not match its actions. It stresses that the Russian side consistently refuses ceasefire proposals.
According to the Centre, statements by Kremlin representatives about readiness for talks are a manipulative way of dragging out the war.
- On Sunday, US President Donald Trump said that an energy truce in the war between Russia and Ukraine “takes effect immediately”.
- President Zelenskyy said that Russia is not showing readiness to agree to the energy ceasefire proposed by the United States.
