At the Ukraine–EU intergovernmental conference in Luxembourg, the Council of the European Union decided to open two new negotiating blocks.

Ireland’s Minister of State for European Affairs, Thomas Byrne, announced the start of work on the second cluster, covering internal market issues, and the third cluster, devoted to competitiveness and inclusive growth, European Pravda reports «European Pravda».

The Irish official stressed that the European Union is urging Ukraine to continue with further reforms, focusing first and foremost on the core cluster, “Fundamentals”.

  • In an evening video address the same day, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is also opening two clusters and that “by the end of the year we must open all six negotiating clusters; that is our plan, and it is a priority”.
  • It was previously reported that Hungary had lifted its veto on opening the second and third negotiating clusters.
