More than 33,000 tonnes of various energy equipment have already been delivered to Ukraine for all regions.

This was stated by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal in the Verkhovna Rada during the government question time.

“We have taken into account all the lessons the enemy has taught us, protected the maximum possible generation capacity, as well as electricity transmission capacity,” Shmyhal said.

According to him, the enemy is changing tactics, but the strategy remains the same: to leave Ukrainians without electricity, water and heating. In particular, the Russians are using new drones with shaped charges that effectively damage pylons and power lines.

“They are doing this consistently and constantly. You see dozens of drone attacks on the energy grid every day,” the minister noted.

At the same time, Shmyhal said that major facilities that are difficult to restore are now protected.

“Today repairs do not take much time, but there are so many of them that, of course, our cities feel it, especially Kyiv, because Kyiv is under particular attention and attacks from the enemy constantly, every day and every night,” he explained.

The minister added that energy workers are restoring everything promptly and taking measures.

Shmyhal did not disclose details of what exactly is being done to counter the enemy’s new tactics, explaining that this is classified information. However, he stressed that the change in tactics is being taken into account, and energy workers are developing countermeasures very quickly.

In addition, the minister said that together with partners they have arranged and delivered to Ukraine more than 33,000 tonnes of various energy equipment for all regions.

“Of course, today the government’s key focus, in terms of allocating funds to continue orders, protection and restoration, is fully concentrated on ensuring that we get through the coming winter,” Shmyhal concluded.
