As a result of a night-time Russian bombardment of Kyiv, teaching buildings and halls of residence at the State University of Trade and Economics were damaged. Preliminary reports indicate several people were injured and received the necessary medical assistance.
This was reported by Education Minister Andrii Butenko.
There were no fatalities among the university’s students or staff. The university is currently assessing the damage, and the Ministry of Education and Science is in contact with its leadership to provide the necessary assistance.
Butenko stressed that Russian attacks continue to damage educational infrastructure.
“Once again, I urge all participants in the education process: during an air-raid alert, it is important to go to a shelter immediately. Safety must come first, and a shelter is the only option during Russian bombardments,” the head of the Ministry of Education and Science said.
- As President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported, as of the morning, the number of people injured after the Russian strike on the university campus and the surrounding area last night has risen to 12. Five of them are students and university staff.
