The court sentenced two traitors to 15 years in prison each, with confiscation of property.

The SBU reported that they were exposed during an act of sabotage in Odesa in February 2025.

Both offenders were detained immediately after they set fire to a relay cabinet of a signalling installation on the railway line leading to the port infrastructure.

According to the investigation, the occupiers’ assignment was carried out by a recruited Odesa resident who had previous convictions for theft, robbery and fraud. Representatives of the Russian special services approached the man when he was looking for work in Telegram channels.

In return for the promised reward, the agent agreed to set fire to a Ukrainian Railways facility and brought in his unemployed acquaintance. On the day of the sabotage, the accomplices arrived at the site with a pre-purchased incendiary mixture and carried out the arson.

In this way, the enemy tried to disrupt the logistics of freight transport to the seaport. During searches of the suspect’s home, mobile phones were seized containing evidence of cooperation with Russia.

The court found both agents guilty of sabotage committed by a group of persons acting in prior conspiracy under martial law.
