An enemy drone strike has been recorded in central Chernihiv. This was reported by the Chernihiv City Council.
After the attack, a fire broke out in shops and cars are also burning.
As of 13:38, according to the Chernihiv City Military Administration, two people have been killed and 22 injured. Three of those injured are minors.
Eleven of the wounded were taken to hospital; the rest were treated at the scene.
"Today the enemy carried out another cynical attack right in the centre of our city. Ordinary civilians were hit — people who were simply on their way to work, going about their daily business, making plans for the day," wrote Dmytro Bryzhynskyi, head of the Chernihiv City Military Administration.
As reported by the head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, Viacheslav Chaus, Russian forces used a "Banderol"-type munition for the strike. Two 15-year-old girls were killed in the attack.
Relevant services are working at the scene. The strike caused significant damage: residential buildings, business premises and cars have been damaged.
- On 28 October, the Russians also attacked Chernihiv with a strike drone. Four people are currently known to have been injured; their condition is stable and there is no threat to life.
