In the Sumy region, a person has been injured as a result of Russian attacks. An enemy drone hit a residential building, causing a fire. In Sumy, civilian infrastructure came under fire.

This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze. In the regional centre, strikes were recorded at several addresses, so rescuers worked at multiple locations simultaneously.

According to information from the head of the Sumy City Military Administration, Serhii Kryvosheienko, Russian forces attacked civilian infrastructure facilities in Sumy’s Kovpakivskyi and Zarichnyi districts.

As a result of strikes by jet-powered unmanned aerial vehicles and fibre-optic FPV drones, several hits were recorded in an industrial zone. A heavy goods vehicle was also damaged. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties at these locations.

Overall, non-residential premises and vehicles were damaged in Sumy, and fires broke out. Due to the constant threat of repeat strikes, State Emergency Service specialists suspended work several times. All remaining fires have now been extinguished.

Over the past day, Russian forces shelled 20 settlements in the Sumy region. As a result of the attacks, a 43-year-old woman was killed, and another 12 people sustained injuries and trauma.
