A fire has broken out at the Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery in Russia. It was confirmed by the governor of the Yaroslavl region.
As Astra reports, at least five separate seats of the blaze were recorded. Residents of the region reported explosions and a large-scale fire.
Governor Mikhail Yevrayev wrote overnight about a drone threat and the closure of traffic from Yaroslavl towards Moscow. Later, he introduced the maximum alert level — a missile threat. Yevrayev subsequently confirmed damage to the refinery’s infrastructure in Yaroslavl.
According to him, two employees of the facility were reportedly injured.
The plant’s capacity is about 15 million tonnes of oil per year. The refinery is part of Slavneft, which is jointly controlled by Rosneft and Gazprom Neft.
Russia’s Ministry of Defence claims that 856 UAVs were allegedly destroyed overnight over the territories of the Bryansk, Belgorod, Vladimir, Kaluga, Kursk, Novgorod, Oryol, Rostov, Ryazan, Smolensk, Tver, Tula and Yaroslavl regions, the Moscow region, annexed Crimea, and over the waters of the Black Sea.
