President Petro Poroshenko has agreed with Russian President Vladimir Putin the algorithm of returning Nadiya Savchenko back to Ukraine.
"When it comes to human life, we all must abandon politics and ensure a prompt return. That is why my yesterday’s conversation with Mr. Putin was my initiative. I believe we have managed to agree on a clear-cut algorithm for the release of Nadiya," Poroshenko told a briefing Tuesday.
He remarked that the liberation of Savchenko may be associated with the verdict to the Russian military Yevgeniy Erofeyev and Aleksandr Aleksandrov, which was passed on April 18.
"This ruling opens up some opportunities for the involvement of the exchange mechanism, but I really would ask you to avoid speculations in this regard, in terms of the timing and next steps. This may not be subject to political games," he underscored.
