Verkhovna Rada refused on 1 June to create a temporary parliamentary commission of inquiry to investigate the information circulated by the media about the use of offshore companies by President Petro Poroshenko and other senior officials.
Only 108 deputies with at least 226 required for the adoption of the draft resolution.
The initiators of the Commission were heads of factions Oleh Lyashko (Radical Party), Yulia Tymoshenko, (Fatherland) and Oleh Berezyuk (Self-Help), and MPs Viktor Vovk (PR) and Yegor Sobolev (Self-Help).
The Radical Party has blocked the rostrum of the parliament for two sessional week, seeking the creation of such a commission. Nevertheless, the Parliament continued to work.
