Three Ukrainian servicemen were killed and 16 wounded in action in the antiterrorist operation (ATO) area on 9 July, a spokesman of the presidential administration for ATO issues, Andriy Lysenko, has said at a briefing.Eight troops received concussion as a result of artillery barrage near Luhanske, Donetsk Region.
Pro-Russian militants continued shelling Ukrainian positions in the industrial zone of Avdiyivka, near Mariupol (both Donetsk Region) and Stanytsya Luhanska (Luhansk Region).
Intelligence learnt that two militants had been killed and five wounded over the day.
There are reports that militants intend to set up mobile mortar groups to target their own positions and living areas to accuse the ATO forces of provocation.
Near Pavlopil and Pishchovyk (Donetsk Region), militants pulled artillery units to the front as they plan to fire on Ukrainian servicemen.
Over the day, the militants have launched 51 attacks on the ATO forces.
