The participants of the Cross processions have gathered at St. Volodymyr's Cathedral, where they had finished prayer. From there they in columns will head to St. Volodymyr's Hill, LB.ua correspondent reported from the scene on 28 July.
According to the police, about 5 thousand believers will take in the procession with the clergy with banners and icons at the head. ATO combatants will take part in the procession.
As previously reported, about 4 thousand police and 1.5 thousand National Guard troops will secure peace and order during the event.
Earlier, President Poroshenko took part in the solemn ceremony on the occasion of the Day of the Baptism of Kyivan Rus at St. Volodymyr's Hill. In his address, the president stressed that only the Patriarchate of Constantinople can secure the unity of Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
