In Kyiv, the incidence of flu and SARS does not exceed the epidemic threshold, so quarantine is unlikely to be announced in the near future.
"As of the 47th week of the year, the incidence of flu and SARS in Kyiv was at 19,417 cases per 1,000, which is by almost 11 per cent below the epidemic threshold," the head of the Kyiv city state administration office, Volodymyr Bondarenko, told a press briefing, Interfax-Ukraine reported on Monday, 28 November.
In view of the above, the introduction of quarantine in not on the agenda in the coming weeks, the city official said.
According to Bondarenko, 4,300 Kyiv residents have been vaccinated against flu last week.
Earlier, a person in Sumy Region died of influenza last week. This was the first lethal case in the 2016-2017 epidemic season.
