Ukraine risks measles epidemic
The Health Ministry is preparing vaccination measures.
The World Health Organization has warned Ukraine of a possible measles epidemic due to the low vaccination rate, acting Health Minister Ulyana Suprun has said on the air of Ukrainian Media Network.
"The World Health Organization let us know that there would be measles next year unless we vaccinate our children. Ukraine has the lowest vaccination level in the world, including African countries," she said.
The absence of vaccines was identified as one of the reasons for low vaccination but now the Health Ministry has brought quality vaccines to Ukraine with the help of international organizations.
Ukraine registered the outbreaks of measles in Ukraine in 2012 and 2013.
