2,500 law enforcers protect order in Kyiv centre amid rallies
Unions demand strengthening of social protection in national budget.
About 2,500 police and National Guard officers are deployed to maintain order in the government quarter in the course of meetings on Thursday, the police said.
The National Police website says the Kyiv city hall has received applications for a few rallies in the capital. Most of them will be held in front of the parliament building.
The most numerous rally will be held by the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine. The FPU has said the protesters will demand the strengthening of social protection in the state budget.
