The threat coming from Russia is not only territorial. Mostly, its the influence that Moscow has, the director of the Institute for Strategic Studies under the French Ministry of Defense (IRSEM), Jean-Baptiste Jeangène Vilmer, told the Seventh National Expert Forum on 15 June.
According to him, the lack of unity is the main problem and weakness in the fight against Russian propaganda, which seems to overtake Europe thanks to Moscow's influence.
"The main problem in the fight against Russian disinformation is the lack of unity," he said.
At the same time, the expert noted the successes of the operational working group of the EU on strategic communications of the East StratCom Task Force in countering Russia's attempts to influence the elections in Europe through disinformation and outright propaganda.
