Poroshenko: Ukraine needs to renew and strengthen its intellectual potential

The leader of the state welcomed the start of the work of the eighth expert forum of Gorshenin Institute.

Ukraine today more than ever needs to renew and strengthen its intellectual potential, President Petro Poroshenko said in an address to the participants of the VIII National Expert Forum (NEF), organized by Gorshenin Institute.

The president noted that the forum, organized by Gorshenin Institute, is an important platform that works in this direction.

"Today, Ukraine more than ever needs to update and strengthen its intellectual potential. NEF is a top-level communication platform that allows generating useful to society ideas and suggestions, which can be further adopted by ministries and state-owned companies. The agenda of the forum highlights three key issues: Ukraine's security formula, because the internal and external security is a pillar and guarantee of progress and prosperity; the industrial development strategy as a basis for economy growth; and the subjectness of Ukraine in the new ever-changing landscape of Europe and the world," reads Poroshenko's address.

The president noted that the NEF not only discusses topical issues but also gives birth to breakthrough ideas for the future.

Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman also sent greetings to the participants of the forum.

"The forum has become an effective and important discussion platform that brings together local and foreign intellectuals, experts, representatives of civil society and politicians to discuss strategies and the analysis of challenges, faced by Ukraine," said the head of the Ukrainian government.

The two leaders of the state wished the forum fruitful work.
