Four Ukrainian servicemen were wounded as the situation in the antiterrorist operation (ATO) escalated. The Russian occupying troops have stepped up the number and intensity of shooting attacks with mortars and tanks against the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the ATO HQ said in its morning update.
In the Luhansk sector, the militants repeatedly fired with 120-mm and 82-mm mortars and various infantry weapons near Luhanske, Troyitske, Novooleksandrivka, Krymske and Tryokhizbenka. Over 110 bombs of various calibres went off near these population centres. The militants fired with grenade launchers and machine guns near Travneve and Novoluhanske.
In the Donetsk sector, the enemy used mortars and tanks banned by the Minsk agreements to target the outskirts of Hnutove. Apart from mortars, they also used infantry weapons near Avdiyivka and Verkhnyotoretske, grenade launchers and small arms near Kamyanka, Starohnativka and Hranitne.
The militants launched a total of 31 attacks. The ATO troops returned fire on 22 occasions.
