Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed the bill on national security into law.
"It is an important milestone in reforming the whole country, above all its defence sector. What is important is that this law resolutely affirms Ukraine's course for European and Euro-Atlantic integration. We are confirming that our state, the Ukrainian people have made their mind about the future in the family of free world nations," his press service quoted him as saying.
He said he would discuss the law with the US defence secretary. He recalled that Ukraine was expecting additional defence and financial aid from the USA.
