The national oil and gas company Naftogaz Ukrayiny has asked Kyiv's Economic Court to charge the Cabinet of Ministers a 6.6bn-hryvnya (240,000-dollar) compensation.
The company argued that the government's inaction in selecting the sources of funding for a compensation to subjects of the natural gas market inflicted this amount of damage on the company.
On 1 November 2018, gas prices for households increased by 23% up to 8,548.92 hryvnyas per 1,000 cu.m.
However, the government obliged Naftogaz and regional gas supplying companies to supply gas to households and heating companies by 1 May 2020.
