Scoop of the day: Separatists violate body recovery truce, kill medic

Donbas

The Russian occupying troops have opened fire on three Ukrainian servicemen who were evacuating the body of another soldier who died this morning after tripping wire near Zaytseve this morning, the Joint Forces command has said on Facebook. The fire was opened in breach of any international legal norms despite an agreed ceasefire to recover the body. A Ukrainian army doctor was killed, one serviceman was wounded and one injured.

Overall, two Ukrainian servicemen have been killed as a result of 11 attacks by the Russian occupying troops since last midnight.

The president of the Swiss Confederation, Simonetta Sommaruga, will visit Ukraine on 20-23 July. In particular, she and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit Donbas.

Coronavirus

Ukraine has registered 612 new cases of the coronavirus and 385 recoveries by the morning of 13 July. The total number of cases has reached 54,133, the Health Ministry added.

Pro-presidential party

The pro-presidential Servant of the People party will nominate Olha Pishchanska for head of the Antimonopoly Committee and Oleh Uruskyy for deputy prime minister for strategic industries, MP Yevheniya Kravchuk has said after the faction's meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

France is preparing President Emmanuel Macron's official visit to Ukraine, however there is no set date yet due to the coronavirus pandemic, the French ambassador to Ukraine, Etienne de Poncins, has said.

Crime

The government has decided that eight foreigners involving in a shooting incident in central Kyiv last week should be deported.
