Over 56% of adults in Ukraine are not planning to get vaccinated against the coronavirus any time soon, a survey by the Democratic Initiatives Foundation has revealed. The respondents said they were concerned about the quality of insufficiently tested vaccines and fear of side effects.
Ukraine registered 1,205 new Covid-19 cases on 12 September, the Health Ministry has said.
IMF
Ukraine expects an IMF mission as soon as next week, the Finance Ministry has said.
Ukraine and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, part of the World Bank, have signed two loan agreements worth 411m dollars, the Cabinet of Ministers has said. The first agreement covers the construction of energy accumulating systems and solar stations, the second one concerns modernization of equipment at Ukraine's higher educational establishments.
Drill
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has held an anti-terrorist exercise near the Belarusian border, its directorate in Volyn Region has said. Under the exercise scenario, a group of notional saboteurs planned to blow up the Rivne nuclear power plant but they failed to penetrate its perimeter and ran off. They reached Volyn Region and trespassed the border, having split into two groups. Both were later detained near the border.
Data safety
A database potentially containing nearly 53 million entries of Ukrainians' personal data has been discovered online, ombudsman Lyudmyla Denisova has complained to police. Each entry allegedly contained full name, birth date, phone number, and full address of a Ukrainian citizen.
Railway
The Ukrainian national railway company Ukrzaliznytsya reported 1.4bn hryvnyas in net losses in the first half of 2021.
