Klychko: the situation is threatening for Kyiv, this night will be hard

According to Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko, the situation is currently threatening for Kyiv, and the Russian army is preparing to attack the city.

He stated this in his address to residents of Kyiv.

"Dear friends, the situation is threatening for Kyiv now, and it’s not an exaggeration. It will be very hard this night, towards morning. Russian troops are very close to the capital. The enemy sabotage groups are neutralized by our military and law enforcement officers," Klychko emphasized.

The mayor noted that the bridges in the capital are under protection and special control. There are military vehicles and soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Also, checkpoints are organized, and not only at the main entrances to the city. Blocks are being installed that will block traffic near strategic facilities in the capital.

"We are doing this to protect Kyiv," the mayor explained.

Klychko added that currently, the 112 Territorial Defense Brigade of Kyiv is already 100% equipped to defend the capital from the Russian aggressor. The issues of creating additional units of defenders of Kyiv are also being resolved.

"And I’m grateful to the city residents for their readiness to defend the capital and the country together with other units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and law enforcement officers. Let’s stand together. Let’s stand to defend Kyiv. We all believe in our Armed Forces, our state, we believe in ourselves. I have no doubt that we will win," the mayor said.

As mentioned before, everyone who is ready and able to hold the weapon can join the Territorial Defense.
