The Mayor of Kyiv Vitalii Klitschko addressed the citizens. He emphasized that the Russian army still attempts to attack the capital, and encouraged everyone to spend the night in shelters.

“Friends! Dear citizens of Kyiv! This night will be tough again. That is why our soldiers are getting ready to defend the capital. I encourage the citizens to spend the night in shelters. Because the enemy is going mad. They shoot civilian houses. They keep destroying our infrastructure, even despite their own great losses. They lose soldiers as well as equipment. Looks like Russians didn’t expect such a response and such a spirit from Ukrainian people, both military and civilians,” said Klitschko in his video message.

“Our soldiers fight heroically. Across all Ukraine. Our people have united to stand up for our country. The horde is trying to break into Kyiv. But our citizens are getting ready to fight back. They help the fighters of territorial defence to build fortifications so that the enemy’s army couldn’t get to our city,” stated the Mayor. “Today I saw them”.

Klitschko expressed his support to the army and his thanks to the citizens of Irpin, Vorzel, Butcha, and Hostomel for their endurance. In these cities, fierce fighting is going on, because the enemy is trying to get to Kyiv.

“Stay strong! Together we will stand!” said Klitschko.
