Minister of Defense Oleksiy Reznikov said that Ukraine proposed Russian soldiers to make a choice: die or receive amnesty and compensation.
He wrote about this on his Facebook page.
"We offer Russian soldiers a choice: to die in an unjust war or a full amnesty and 5 million rubles in compensation. If they lay down their arms and surrender voluntarily," Reznikov wrote.
He added that the leaders of the global IT industry are raising funds to support this campaign.
"We invite the Russian military to start a new life. Anyone who refuses to be an occupier will bring peace. For those who choose the path of the occupier - there will be no mercy!" - stressed the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
The head of the Defense Ministry noted that in four days the Russian aggressor suffered heavy losses - 5.3 thousand people were killed and wounded, and hundreds of soldiers and officers were taken captive.
Many of them are very young. The Kremlin turns them into criminals, makes them murderers. Some of them were deceived, some were zombied by propaganda or intimidated. In general, it is clear that the motivation of most invaders is low.Motivation becomes utterly insignificant when they face the resistance of our heroic male and female defenders. And they feel the power of Ukrainian weapons, " Oleksiy Reznikov wrote.
It will be recalled that Ukraine will pay the military 100,000 hryvnya a month. The relevant decision to implement presidential decrees was made today, 28 February, by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
