The Shevchenkivsky District Prosecutor's Office in Kyiv has launched a criminal investigation into the rocket attack on the Kyiv Television Tower, which killed people. The case is being investigated under Part 2 of Art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - violation of the laws and customs of war, the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office reports.
According to the investigation, on 1 March 2022, at about 17:00, the armed forces of the Russian Federation launched two missile strikes on the Kyiv TV Tower on the street Dorogozhytska in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the capital. The shelling damaged hardware, several cars and a sports complex.

As a result of the occupier's airstrikes, five capital residents were killed, and three others were injured. All the dead and injured are civilians.

At about 5:18 p.m. on 1 March, the enemy struck at the Kyiv TV tower, and the TV channels stopped broadcasting for a while. The occupiers also hit the Babyn Yar memorial complex.
Today, the State Special Communications Service said that the operator was ready for a terrorist attack on the TV tower in Kyiv. The Broadcasting, Radio and Television Concern has pre-delivered the signal to regional networks via European satellite stations.
The day before, Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov warned Ukrainians about the occupiers' plans to cut off communications and announce the capitulation of the Ukrainian government.
