Ukraine and the United States are working on new supply routes for arms and humanitarian assistance in connection with increased supplies of lethal weapons, medical supplies, and humanitarian aid.

This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure after the meeting of Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov with the United States Secretary of Transportation Peter Buttigieg.

Kubrakov, on the results of negotiations, noted that in a short time, it was possible to agree with western neighbors on the maximum simplification of procedures of the passage of trucks and trains across borders to Ukraine. However, due to hazardous conditions, new routes are being developed.

The Minister also noted that the Russian leadership had repeatedly threatened to deliver technical and humanitarian assistance.

"Taking into account the inadequate actions of the aggressor country, constant ignore of all international rules and norms, Ukraine insists on the complete closure of the sky over Ukraine. For the time being, this concerns the protection not only of our country but also the citizens of NATO countries", the Minister stressed.

During the negotiations, Kubrakov and Buttigieg discussed several other systemic support measures to Ukraine in the fight against the Russian aggressor. These are the closure of airspace to Russian aircraft, the blocking of services in ports to Russian ships or associated companies, and the assistance of the United States in excluding Russia and its organizations from key international associations.

On the 1st of March, the United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken, in a conversation with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitro Kuleba, promised to increase the supply of weapons and the number of sanctions against Russia.

Today, on the 2nd of March, the USA closed the sky to Russian aircraft. The USA President Joe Biden stated it during his 'State of the Union speech".
