The possibility of blocking YouTube in Russia has been announced

Roskomsvoboda has announced the possible start of a YouTube blockade in Russia, Meduza reports.

Roskomnadzor stated that no decision had been made.

According to Roskomsvoboda and an employee of the VPN service Antizaborona, the yt3.ggpht.com domain, which is used to upload images and other static YouTube content, is currently unavailable in Russia. This follows from the data of the Ping-admin service.

Blocking is carried out due to the system of technical means of counteracting DPI threats on the networks of those providers where it is installed.

We are to recall that YouTube has blocked Russian propaganda channels in Ukraine. Access has been closed to Channel One, Russia 24 and Russia 1, TASS, RIA Novosti, RBC, Zvezda and a number of other channels.
