The administration of US President Joe Biden is asking Congress to approve $10 billion in aid to Ukraine, writes washingtonpost.com citing its sources.

The funds should help our country overcome the humanitarian crisis that Russia’s invasion is causing.

Also, funds will be used to strengthen Ukraine’s defense and protect the grid from disruptions.

At first, Biden’s administration asked legislators to provide Ukraine with about $6.4 billion as a response to the geopolitical crisis.

Legislators have until March 11 to decide.

Earlier today, the EU signed a Memorandum with Ukraine on providing 1.2 billion euros of macro-financial help.

Biden’s administration is also preparing another package of sanctions, targeting Russian oligarchs to increase pressure on Russia’s economy.
