According to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the UAE Government on mutual abolition of visa requirements has been renewed.
This was announced on Thursday, March 3, by the Embassy of Ukraine in the UAE.
"As a result, all citizens of Ukraine arriving in the UAE, from 3 March 2022 onwards have the right to visa-free entry and to remain in the Emirates in accordance with the provisions of the above-mentioned Memorandum," a statement on the embassy's Facebook page stated.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation announced additionally that, taking into account the humanitarian conditions in which Ukrainian citizens remain, it was decided to allow Ukrainian citizens who arrived in the Emirates before 3 March 2022 to stay in the country for up to one year after passing the relevant procedure for continuing their stay in the UAE (without paying fines for exceeding the period of stay in the UAE).
Details of the procedure for continuing to stay in the UAE will be announced once received from the Emiraty side.
