Tonight, 38 states have filed a lawsuit with the International Criminal Court against Russia for its barbaric invasion of Ukraine.
This is the largest lawsuit in history, wrote on Twitter the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson.
"It is absolutely clear to us that Putin cannot commit these horrific acts with impunity," he said.
He has not yet announced the list of plaintiffs.
It will be recalled that the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Karim Khan (Great Britain), initiated an investigation into Russia's crimes against Ukraine by himself. He describes the actions of the occupier as "war crimes" and "crimes against humanity".
He noted that Ukraine is not a member state of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC, or the Court), so it cannot transfer the situation to its office.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine believes that Russia's top military and political leadership will definitely stand before the International Criminal Court and will be held accountable for every crime committed. This will be the 21st century’s Nuremberg Trial.
