The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine demands that the sky over Ukraine is closed as soon as possible.

This was stated at a briefing on March 2nd by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleb.

"Unfortunately, the Russian military and space forces are being barbaric. And indeed, there is an urgent need in Ukraine to strengthen the air force," The Minister of Foreign Affairs said.

According to Kuleba, the Ukrainian party is currently working with a number of countries to establish a no-fly zone over Ukraine, a plan which has already seen some progress.

"But we can't wait. It's not weeks we are talking about, we don't have weeks. We have days, and we have to solve this problem in a few days. That doesn't mean that if there are no planes, we will give up. But it means that if there are no planes, we will continue to fight, unfortunately, with much greater civilian casualties, because Russia will continue to bomb our cities," he said.

As reported before, on March 2nd the US established a no-fly zone for the Russian planes. This was stated by US President Joe Biden as as he addressed the State of the Union.

The press service of UkSATSE reported on February 26th that the United Kingdom, Poland, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Romania and Slovenia have closed their airspace for flights (including transit) to Russian airlines.
