The Prime Minister Denis Shmygal addressed the people of Ukraine, where the national liberation war against the Russian occupiers has been going on for 8 days.
"Heroic people of Ukraine! The national liberation war against the Russian occupier has been going on for 8 days. The enemy's blitzkrieg has failed. No regional center surrenders without a fight. No one meets the occupiers with bread and salt. Ukraine is turning to total resistance. People in cities and villages are blocking equipment, attacking supply convoys and capturing Russian soldiers”, Shmygal said in a video message.
The Prime Minister noted that the information wave created by Ukrainians has captured the whole world, and the whole civilized world sides with Ukraine.
"We feel this support not only in words. Thousands of volunteers from all over the world go to Ukraine to fight for freedom. We have already received tons of weapons from our partners. The UN General Assembly has unequivocally acknowledged that Russia has committed aggression against Ukraine and demands that Russia stop fire ", - Shmygal emphasized.
Moreover, he noted that the world also helps Ukraine financially. The Memorandum of Understanding for €1.2 billion Macro-financial assistance to Ukraine has been signed today. An agreement on the establishment of a multi-donor monetary fund, including a World Bank loan of $ 1.8 billion, will also be signed in the near future.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine also called on international organizations, including the IAEA, to immediately ask NATO to close access to the airspace over our nuclear facilities. Shmygal stressed that the closed sky over Ukraine is a matter of security for the whole world!
He also appealed to the UN and the Red Cross.
"After the attacks on the civilian population, the whole world saw that the Russian military is a terrorist who kills civilians and does not allow to provide assistance to the victims. In some cities, children, the elderly and pregnant women are in the enemy’s trap and have been surviving without light, heat, water, food and medical care for days. The occupiers do not allow to open humanitarian corridors for evacuation. Ukraine demands for the sake of people's lives and health to organize humanitarian corridors so that we can provide assistance and evacuate all who wish and need it! " - Shmygal emphasized.
We will remind, earlier the president Vladimir Zelensky declared that because of the courageous resistance of Ukrainians the Russian occupiers were compelled to change tactics. Russia's missile and bomb strikes on Ukrainian cities are a recognition that they have failed to do anything significant on ground. All lines of our defense are preserved.
