NATO will not create a no-fly zone over Ukraine, Stoltenberg said

Оn Friday, NATO rejected Ukraine's request to establish a no-fly zone over Ukraine, Alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg told at the press-conference after a meeting of NATO foreign ministers.

This was reported by The New York Times.

"Allies agree that we cannot allow NATO aircraft to operate in Ukrainian airspace or NATO troops on Ukrainian territory," he said, adding that there was a risk of a much wider war.

"We will provide support, but we will not be part of the conflict," Stoltenberg said.

It will be recalled that today the Speaker of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine addressed the governments and parliaments of the world with a request to immediately close the sky over Ukraine. Earlier, similar requests were stated by the President of Ukraine and the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
