Ninety-six thousand homes in the Kyiv region will have their gas shut down, as the Russian military targets distribution centers, announced the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine (GTSOU).
GTSOU has shut down five distribution centers upon the request of the regional operator Kyivolbgas, which will leave 96 thousand homes around Kyiv without gas as of March 7. As per the official statement, this decision is motivated by numerous damages caused by the occupier's firing on the distribution networks.
Press service of the GTS Operator said that workers couldn't repair damaged infrastructure due to active combat, adding, "Destruction of vital infrastructure is just another crime against the Ukrainian people."
As reported earlier, on March 6, Russian forces shelled a bridge in Irpin, Kyiv region, using 122 caliber mortars, during a civilian evacuation, killing eight civilians.
