A well-known journalist, Viktor Dudar, died in the war with Russian invaders near Mykolayiv.

This was announced by the head of the Zhovkva United Territorial Community, Oleg Volskyy.

"Sincere condolences to his wife Oksana, daughter Sofia, family, relatives, friends and all Ukrainian people," commented Oleg Volskyy. "We lost one of the best. Eternal memory to the Hero."

For a long time, Victor worked in Chernivtsi as a journalist for the newspaper Molodyy Bukovynets. In 2014-2015, he volunteered and fought in the 80th Air Assault Brigade. Later, he became a reservist and worked for the Lviv newspaper Express, where he conducted journalistic investigations and covered military topics up until the last day.

According to the wife of the deceased, also a journalist, Oksana Dudar, her husband went to the front on the first day of Russia's full-scale offensive.

"I remember waking him up at 5:30, “Get up! The war has begun!" He hugged me tightly, saying that everything will be fine. Then he packed the backpack, called a few friends, and went to the military unit," Oksana wrote on Facebook.
