President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has awarded state awards to 96 Ukrainian servicemen defending the country from Russia's military invasion.
He stated this in his video.
"Today I signed a decree to award 96 Ukrainian heroes with state awards of Ukraine," he said.
I award the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyy of the Second Degree:
Major Sak Olexander. Commander of a mechanized battalion, who entered into battle with an enemy tactical battalion and won thanks to a rational approach to combat and non-standard tactics.
Captain Silivakin Rostislav. Commander of a mechanized battalion, who has successfully fought off the overwhelming forces of the enemy, liberating Ukrainian towns and villages in the Sumy region.
I award the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky of the Third Degree:
Lieutenant Lozovyy Ihor. Acting as part of a group, he stopped a convoy of around 150 enemy vehicles moving in the direction of the Zhytomyr-Kyiv highway. Two units of equipment and a significant amount of enemy manpower was neutralised.
Lieutenant Poturemets Vitaliy. He showed exemplary courage and composure in battle, destroying a convoy of enemy equipment near the city of Kyiv. He was wounded in the process.
Master Sergeant, Commander of the Automobile Platoon Barilyuk Valentyn is awarded the Order "For Courage" of the Third Degree. Thanks to his brave deeds and personal determination, the tank unit received fuel in time and was able to leave the encirclement, destroying the enemy on the way.
"All 96 of our heroes are like these five! Our gratitude is boundless. Glory to Ukraine!" The President said.
As a reminder, today, President Zelenskнy was awarded the Ronald Reagan Medal of Freedom. The medal was presented to the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Oksana Markarova by the Head of the Presidential Fund Frederic Ryan.
