McDonald's is shutting down in Russia and temporarily closing all 850 restaurants.

This was reported by the company's corporate website.

"After thorough consultation with our chairman Rick Hernandez and the rest of McDonald's board of directors, we have decided to temporarily close all our restaurants in Russia and suspend all activities in thismarket," said McDonald's CEO Chris Kempczynski.

According to him, McDonald's values do not give the company the right to ignore "unnecessary human suffering unfolding in Ukraine."

However, the company has promised to continue to pay salaries to 62,000 of its employees in Russia. As a reminder, today, Procter & Gamble announced that it is stopping investments and advertising activities in Russia, leaving only the sale of basic hygiene products, which will also be reduced.
