The First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska reacts to Russia’s bombardment of the maternity home and children’s hospital in Mariupol.
“This is a terrifying video. But what’s even more terrifying is the things we can’t see in it. We still don’t know how many wounded and dead mums and children there are. All Ukraine is asking NATO to close the sky over us. But they don’t hear us. And the enemy’s aircrafts are annihilating civilians in the open,” the President’s wife writes on Facebook. She also adds a video with the consequences of bombardment.
Previously, it was reported that today, on 9 March, Russian occupiers carried out an artillery strike on the Maternity Home 2 in Mariupol. According to the Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration Pavlo Kyrylenko, the building of the maternity home was destroyed, along with the hospital, the children’s and the internal medicine departments.
Later, the Head of the RMA announced that there were no deaths. At the moment, there is information about 17 wounded among the personnel and maternity patients.
The Deputy Mayor Serhii Orlov announced that during the two weeks of war, 1170 residents of Mariupol died. Today, 47 of them were buried in a mass grave.
