The occupiers are primarily focused on the capture of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Mariupol - General Staff

The press centre of the General Staff of the Armed Forces reported that the enemy continues the offensive operation against Ukraine with aircraft support and high-precision weapons.

"The occupier’s main efforts continue to focus on creating conditions for the capture of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Mariupol and Mykolayiv, and access to the administrative borders of Luhansk and Donetsk regions," the statement said.

Simultaneously, there are signs of readiness among the military-political leadership of the Republic of Belarus for a possible, large-scale participation of the Armed Forces of the Republic in hostilities against Ukraine, on the side of the Russian Federation. The republic carried out a partial regrouping of its ground forces and SOS (Special Operations Service). In particular, there are 2 BTG (battalion tactical groups) of the Belarusian Armed Forces in the Brest area; there are 2 BTG next to Oleksandrivka (in the area near the border checkpoint in the village of Vilcha, Kyiv region); and there are 2 BTG in the Kirovo area (Polesie State Radioecological Reserve).

"The units mentioned above have been kept at a higher level of combat readiness, but the morale of the personnel is extremely low. Most servicemen are aware of what lies ahead and do not want to fight on the side of the Russian Armed Forces," the General Staff added.

In the Bucha area, the enemy is trying to hold the city. Additional enemy forces are being mobilized to conduct offensive operations in the direction of Fastiv.

Units of the occupying forces of the 35th army continue their offensive operations towards Ivankiv, in the Kyiv region.

The enemy is trying to block Chernihiv. The main forces are continuing to rebuild the pontoon which crosses the Desna River. The enemy, with up to five BTGs, tried to organize an offensive from the previously created frontier around Glukhiv. The attempt was unsuccessful; the Ukrainian army stopped the offensive.

Units of the Russian 6th army left the combat zone and returned to the Belgorod region to restore combat readiness, due to irreparable losses in the Kharkiv region.

Up to seven BTGs of the occupying Army continue their offensive operations in the direction of Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia to reach the administrative borders of the Donetsk region. They made an unsuccessful attempt to attack the area around Troitske village. The enemy is trying to resume the offensive and capture Mariupol. Two BTGs advanced towards Huliaipole and Orikhiv.

The enemy was not active in the waters of the Black and Azov Seas. But the Black Sea Fleet and Caspian Flotilla are likely to launch missile strikes on government and military targets from their ships.

British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace called the Russian President "a spent force in the world", saying that the Russian army was over, and Putin should admit it.

According to the Pentagon, Russia has used almost 100% of its troops concentrated on Ukraine's borders.

As of the morning of 8 March, Russian losses amounted to 12 thousand soldiers. Ukrainian soldiers destroyed 303 tanks, 80 helicopters and 48 aircraft.
