President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the International Committee of the Red Cross forbids us to use the emblem on vehicles carrying out humanitarian missions.
Addressing Ukrainians on March 8, the President said the Red Cross forbade to use it as if the cross were their property.
"And this is significant. It speaks volumes that some very influential people have decided to put a cross on (end up with) the Ukrainians. But we will not allow it. And I will not allow it. Our friends are with us. I will address directly the people of the world if the leaders of the world do not make every effort to stop this war. This is genocide, " – he said.
The President added that he continued negotiations with international partners.
"I spoke with the President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda. The people of Lithuania stand side by side with the Ukrainians always in this battle. We feel their help and appreciate it. I spoke with the President of the European Council, our friend Charles Michel. I also spoke with the Prime Minister of India Mr. Modi, but there are things that are not decided in negotiations. These things do not depend directly on us but on humanity, which must win in the leading capitals. Fear must overcome any benefits. And then we will see that the Ukrainian sky is safe, the Ukrainian cities are unblocked. We can do this together as people of the world. And if the world is set aside, it will lose itself. Forever. Because there are unconditional values. The same for everyone. First of all, this is life. The right to life for everyone," – the President said.
Earlier, Zelenskyy also stressed that the blame for every death of every Ukrainian from air strikes and in the cities blocked by the occupiers lies with Russia and its military. The blame lies with those who give criminal orders and deliberately destroy the Ukrainian people.
The blame lies with the occupiers. But the responsibility also lies with those who can, but do not, decide to close the sky over Ukraine from hostile Russian fighter aircrafts and cruise missiles.
