Ukraine's air defence has shot down another Russian fighter jet which carried out an air strike on Chernihiv, the Operational Command North has said.
The jet was downed on the outskirts of Chernihiv.
According to available information, two pilots managed to eject themselves in the Masany neighbourhood.
Local residents who have any information on the incident or the pilots are asked to report to the military.
Updated at 12:24 p.m. The head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration, Vyacheslav Chaus, said that one pilot had been detained.
Updated at 12:39 p.m. Kyiv Operatyvnyy reported the other pilot dead.
Update at 1:40 p.m. One pilot is reported to have been involved in a Russian mission in Syria, bombing civilians. Since 2015, he has been on the Myrotvorets (Peacekeeper) database of individuals posing risk to Ukraine's security.
As reported earlier, the Ukrainian military shot down a Russian army helicopter at around 10:00 a.m.
Yesterday, it was also reported that two more Su-25 fighter jets which shelled Chernihiv were destroyed. One pilot was killed and another one was detained.
